Initial Filings

Once your corporation is formed you have specific documents and filings that need to be completed.

The first is a SS-4 form with the IRS. You can find the form at www.irs.gov or in our IRS Tax Center.  This form will obtain an EIN or Employer Identification Number.  This is the number used by the IRS for your company’s tax return.  It is also required on many credit applications and other forms for permits and licenses.

If you have filed a corporation and wish to elect “S” corporation status you need to file the IRS form 2553.  The form can be found in our IRS Tax Center.  To elect “S” Corporation status you will be taxed as a partnership and enjoy the benefits of a “flow-through” entity.

Licenses are required by most states and local city and county registrars.  In order to operate your business you will want to verify what licenses you need if any for your business.

It is highly recommended that you work with a professional company that can do your payroll.  One of the top audits of small business owners is on their 940 and 941 forms.  If you don’t know what these are, you have no choice but to higher a professional company to manage your payroll so you aren’t subject to large fees and back taxes on payroll.  If you would like information about a professional company that provides payroll services, medical plans, retirement plans, employee manuals and more, all for a very reasonable fee send us information about your company. We will respond with the best company to work with based on your needs.

Request to be contacted by a payroll company that meets your needs.
